I've been tagged by Mr. Martini to tell the interwebosphere "Five Things You Probably Don't Know About Me."
While he believes that the 'tag' implies assassination, it reminds me of those wildlife shows where animals are tranq-ed and then tagged with microchips before being sent back into the wild where their buddies then make fun of their new piercings.
Anyway, here are Five Things You Probably Don't Know About Me.
(Sorry, identity thieves, I won't be revealing my Social Security Number. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...)
1. I was very flexible as a kid, and could do all three splits. Now, I can't do any.
2. I am terrible at estimating distances. I couldn't tell you if something was 10ft or 100ft away. "The length of a football field" does't help me unless there are lines drawn every 10 yards.
3. One of my favorite books of all time is "The Westing Game" which I first read in 5th grade. It was a great disappointment to me that not all mysteries are as intricate and fun as that one. I still read it at least once a year.
4. Rhode Island is my forbidden state. Nothing good ever happened to me there. I'm a little scared to go back.
5. I once played a dominatrix prostitute in a play, complete with whip, chains and thigh-high leather boots. My dad saw the play, but we never discussed it afterwards.
So there you have it - five things you probably didn't know about me. I know I'm supposed to tag people to do this, but I don't think I know five people who haven't done it. So feel free to do it yourself - if you do, be sure to leave a comment so I can read it.
What is the greatest compliment you've received?

When I was in grad school, I acted in a few shows in the local theater company. It was a tradition at this small theater company to do a meet-and-greet with audience members after the shows. Which was fun, especially after matinees when many of the audience members were senior citizens - they were always the most appreciative audiences, and I liked talking with them.
After one production of "The Mousetrap" I was speaking with several women, and received the most memorable compliment. She told me she admired my performance, and then said something I never forgot:
"It's so nice to see a young woman who knows how to sit down in and stand up from a chair properly."

My Fortune Cookie told me:
Avoid gunfire in the bathroom
tonight.
Get
a cookie from Miss Fortune
Since Ben Martini himself linked to my blog today, I figured I'd better post something new.
This is a video I took last night with my cellphone of the CTA holiday train approaching the station at Fullerton. I'm not sure why it cut out just as Santa's car was approaching, but I thought the lights were pretty cool.
"AAAAHHHHHH!"
That's the sound that came from my apartment last night when I discovered that my DVR hadn't recorded Veronica Mars.
Does anyone out there in Vox Land know of a place online to watch VM episodes? Like iTunes, AOL, that sort of thing?
Any insight or help would be appreciated - I know it was supposed to be a great wrap up to the first story arc of the season, and I can't believe I missed it.
Thanks so much!
Show us a picture of you on vacation.
